60T Tin Powder Block Press 1
Tin Powder Block: Hydraulic Press Machine

60T Four Pillar Hydraulic Press for Tin Powder Block

Tin Powder Block Forming 4-Column Hydraulic Press Machine is a specialized precision compaction system designed to press fine elemental tin powder or tin-alloy powders into dense, solid green blocks or tablets.

These pressed blocks are widely used in powder metallurgy, chemical synthesis, solder manufacturing, and metallurgical alloying additions where controlled sizing and minimal oxidation are critical.

01 — Key Engineering Features

Key Engineering Features for Tin Powder Compaction

4-Column Precision Guidance: Tin is a relatively soft, malleable metal. The four-pillar precision-ground column architecture ensures absolute platen parallelism and eliminates lateral play, preventing powder leakage around the die punches and ensuring uniform block density.

Oxidation and Dust Control: Because fine tin powder has a high surface-area-to-volume ratio and can oxidize or pose dust management challenges, the machine can be integrated with sealed feeding enclosures or inert gas purge options if required by the application.

Controlled Decompression & Punch Action: Utilizing a top and bottom punch configuration (often double-action hydraulic cylinders), the press ensures even density distribution from top to bottom, avoiding internal laminations or cracking.

02 — Technical Specifications

Typical Technical Specifications

FeatureIndustrial Specification Range
Nominal Compaction Force30 Tons to 200 Tons (tailored to the required block surface area and target density for soft metals)
Structural Design4-Column Synchronized Guide Frame (Heavy-duty fabricated steel or cast stress-relieved structure)
Die & Punch MaterialHigh-grade tool steel or tungsten carbide inserts to resist abrasive wear from fine metallic powders
Hydraulic SystemVariable displacement piston pump with proportional pressure control for smooth, low-speed high-pressure pressing
Control SystemPLC unit with HMI touchscreen for precise adjustment of pressing tonnage, dwell time, and stroke depth

03 — Operational Workflow

Operational Workflow

  1. Volumetric Filling: An automated powder-feed shoe accurately slides over the die cavity, filling it with a measured volume of loose tin powder.
  2. Precision Compaction: The top ram descends rapidly, shifting to high-pressure pressing. Because tin is a soft, ductile metal, controlled pressure allows the particles to cold-weld and mechanically lock under moderate-to-high tonnage.
  3. Dwell Phase: The system holds the pressure briefly to allow the compressed tin particles to stabilize and minimize elastic springback.
  4. Ejection: The bottom core or ejection cylinder raises the newly formed solid tin block out of the die cavity, where a sweep arm clears it for collection or downstream sintering.
