200T Wolframite Powder Block Press 1
Wolframite Powder Block: Hydraulic Press Machine

200T Four Column Hydraulic Press for Wolframite Powder Block

A Wolframite Powder Block Compression 4-Column Hydraulic Press Machine is a heavy-duty industrial compaction system engineered to compress fine wolframite powder (an iron-manganese tungstate mineral, which serves as a primary ore of tungsten) into dense, uniform solid blocks, briquettes, or charge preforms.

These machines are utilized in extractive metallurgy, tungsten smelting preparation, and carbide manufacturing, where loose, heavy mineral concentrates must be consolidated to minimize dusting, prevent material loss, and optimize furnace feed rates.

01 — Engineering Considerations

Structural Design & Engineering Considerations (4-Column Architecture)

High-Precision Guidance: Heavy mineral concentrates require strict control over compaction uniformity to prevent structural weak points or density gradients. The four-pillar precision-ground column architecture ensures absolute platen parallelism and eliminates lateral play, preventing uneven wall pressures and ensuring consistent block density.

Rigid Load Distribution: Compacting dense, heavy tungsten-bearing mineral powders requires continuous high tonnage. The 4-column frame withstands heavy cyclic loads without structural flexing, maintaining exact micro-tolerances between the punches and the die cavity.

Dust Containment & Safety: Fine heavy-metal mineral concentrates create hazardous dust and require careful handling. The press is frequently integrated with enclosed or sealed feeding hoppers, local exhaust ventilation ports, and dust collection interfaces to protect operators and ensure environmental compliance.

03 — Operational Workflow

Operational Workflow

  1. Enclosed Volumetric Feeding: An automated, sealed feed shoe slides precisely over the die cavity to deposit a measured volume of loose wolframite powder, minimizing airborne dust.
  2. Multi-Stage Compression:
    1. Fast Approach: The top ram lowers quickly to the material surface.
    2. High-Pressure Compaction: The system applies controlled tonnage. A multi-action or dual-punch configuration ensures even particle interlocking and density distribution throughout the depth of the block.
  3. Dwell Phase: Peak pressure is held for a set duration to allow trapped air to evacuate and the dense mineral particles to firmly settle, minimizing internal stress or cracking.
  4. Controlled Decompression & Ejection: Hydraulic pressure is gradually bled off to prevent surface cracking from elastic springback. A bottom ejection cylinder then cleanly pushes the solid wolframite block out of the die cavity for downstream roasting, smelting, or processing.
