60T Nastran Powder Block Press 1
Nastran Powder Block: Hydraulic Press Machine

60T Four Column Hydraulic Press for Nastran Powder Block

A Nastran Powder Block Compression 4-Column Hydraulic Press Machine is a specialized industrial compaction system engineered to compress fine cosmetic or mineral skincare powders (such as tinted sun block or specialty compact formulations) into dense, uniform solid blocks, tablets, or pressed cakes.

These machines are utilized in cosmetic manufacturing and personal care production where fine, lightweight powders must be consolidated into pans, molds, or solid blocks to ensure structural stability, prevent crumbling, and optimize packaging and consumer handling.

01 — Engineering Considerations

Structural Design & Engineering Considerations (4-Column Architecture)

High-Precision Guidance & Parallelism: Cosmetic and skincare powders require strict control over compaction uniformity to prevent density gradients or surface cracking. The four-pillar precision-ground column architecture ensures absolute platen parallelism and eliminates lateral play, preventing uneven wall pressures and ensuring consistent block density.

Rigid Load Distribution: Compacting fine cosmetic powders into solid cakes requires balanced, controlled tonnage. The 4-column frame withstands continuous cyclic loads without structural flexing, maintaining exact micro-tolerances between the punches and the die cavity over long operational lifespans.

Dust Containment & Gentle Compaction: Fine cosmetic powders create significant airborne dust and require gentle yet precise pressure profiles. The press is frequently integrated with enclosed or sealed feeding hoppers, local exhaust ventilation ports, and specialized low-pressure control settings to prevent powder degradation or overheating.

03 — Operational Workflow

Operational Workflow

  1. Enclosed Volumetric Feeding: An automated, sealed feed shoe slides precisely over the die cavity to deposit a measured volume of loose cosmetic powder, minimizing airborne dust and ensuring uniform fill density.
  2. Multi-Stage Compression:
    1. Fast Approach: The top ram lowers quickly to the material surface.
    2. High-Pressure Compaction: The system applies controlled tonnage. A multi-action or dual-punch configuration ensures even particle interlocking and density distribution throughout the depth of the block.
  3. Dwell Phase: Peak pressure is held for a set duration to allow trapped air to evacuate and the cosmetic particles to firmly settle, minimizing internal stress or surface crumbling.
  4. Controlled Decompression & Ejection: Hydraulic pressure is gradually bled off to prevent surface cracking from elastic springback. A bottom ejection cylinder then cleanly pushes the solid pressed block out of the die cavity for downstream packaging, assembly, or final distribution.
